Janet Askew, President of the ECTP-CEU had the privilege of attending a meeting of the Davos Baukultur Alliance in January in Switzerland. The ECTP-CEU found itself in esteemed company to discuss vital issues so important to spatial planners. Ministers of 31 countries, along with civil society organisations (NGOs and IGOs) and major construction and real estate companies met in Davos on the eve of the World Economic Forum. Charter on participative democracy

This autumn another 10 cities and municpalities and one province in Flanders (B) signed ECTP-CEU’s Charter on participative democracy. Our member VRP is promoting local authorities to sign the charter and to exchange best practices in taking citizens on board in spatial planning processes. Future of the Traces of modernity: public mass housing neighbourhoods – Conference

Janet Askew, President of ECTP-CEU was invited to make the opening remarks for the conference which was held in Bratislava on 27th September 2022. The ECTP-CEU co-operated with SPA-CE.NET and AUÚP to hold a conference with SPECTRA CE EU at STU in Bratislava, with the inspiring theme, ‘Future of the Traces of modernity: public mass housing neighbourhoods’. The conference included a set of 10 presentations from ECTP-CEU Young Planners, showcasing their research and case studies, offering solutions to the ubiquitous problems of the regeneration of public mass housing neighbourhoods. Their work will be published soon on the ECTP-CEU website. ECTP-CEU Statement on Ukraine

The European Council of Spatial Planners (ECTP-CEU) stands in solidarity with the planners and citizens of Ukraine against the destructive invasion of their country.  As an organisation which represents the planning profession across the countries of Europe, we condemn the unprovoked and catastrophic attack on Ukraine. The Ukraine people have demonstrated just how much they believe in collective action – people and communities working together – which is at the heart of planning. One day the country will be free of conflict and it is going to need rebuilding. Planners across Europe will support the Ukrainians in whatever way they can to help

European Urban Agenda: Ljubljana agreement officially adopted !

ECTP was actively involved as European stakeholder in this Ljubljana agreement.
