Deadline is
Monday, 29th June 2026

You will be notified one week later (7th July), in the evening, if your contribution will be admitted to be presented at ECTP-CEU’s 15th Biennale of European Towns and Town Planners in Lisbon, Portugal on 12th-13th November 2026. The selected participants are asked to attend at least two online meetings: the first one between 3rd August and 25th September and the second one between 5th and 23rd October to discuss how to present their works.

Who can apply? Young planners — this year again only practitioners (i.e., no undergraduate or PhD students, no researchers and no academics, unless the works they present are carried out completely outside university) — aged less than 35 years or with less than 10 years’ post-qualification experience in planning (“35-10-year rule”). Applications must come from individual young planners or small teams of up to three members. This year will be selected, as usual, 10 individuals/teams. Last year’s limitation to only 5 individual young planners was an exception due to the full programme of the anniversary celebration combined with the European Planning Awards.

Why apply? Every year, ECTP-CEU’s Young Planners Workshop offers young planners the opportunity to present and discuss their works and ideas with an international audience of senior and young planners. They also have the opportunity to attend many interesting keynotes and presentations by planners all across Europe and to engage in discussions with them. In addition, the coffee and lunch breaks, as well as the official delegates’ dinner are excellent opportunities for making contacts and networking. Each young planner will receive a certificate of attendance indicating the place, date, event name and the title of their own contribution.

Can’t afford travelling to Lisbon? No problem. Each selected individual participant or team will receive from the ECTP-CEU a lump-sum contribution of 400 euros. For individual participants, this should cover all or at least most of the travelling and hotel costs, while for teams it will likely represent only a contribution. In addition, all selected participants are invited to attend the official delegates’ dinner on Friday 13th November free of charge. The young planners’ posters will be printed at the expense of the ECTP-CEU.

Any question? Don’t hesitate to contact ECTP-CEU’s Young Planners Project Board at yp@ectp-ceu.eu.

Looking forward to receiving applications from many young planners around Europe.
