{"id":2543,"date":"2021-07-19T14:59:08","date_gmt":"2021-07-19T14:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ectp-ceu.eu\/?p=2197"},"modified":"2025-07-21T19:10:43","modified_gmt":"2025-07-21T17:10:43","slug":"european-climate-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ectp-ceu.eu\/de\/news\/european-climate-law\/","title":{"rendered":"EUROP\u00c4ISCHES KLIMARECHT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The European Parliament, in plenary session on 24 June, adopted the provisional agreement reached with the Council, which had formally adopted it on 28 June.<br>In addition to enshrining the 2050 climate neutrality objective in EU law, the regulation sets a binding target of reducing the EU&#8217;s net greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 55% by 2030 (compared to 1990 levels) and a negative emissions target after 2050.<br>It also provides for the creation of a &#8220;European Scientific Advisory Council on Climate Change&#8221; and a &#8220;GHG budget&#8221;.
