Description

UBSP is a non-government, voluntary professional organization dedicated to advancing and promoting  spatial planning activities. Our primary aim is to advocate the interests of spatial planners in Bulgaria and support their professional development.

Our key objectives include:

  • Advocating principles and best practices for sustainability, interdisciplinarity and transparency within today’s practice;
  • Representing public interest in the spatial planning process
  • Dissemination and adaptation of good practices in spatial planning in the local context;
  • Developing innovative approaches and tools in the field of spatial planning.
  • Develop innovative research and development, spatial analysis and synthesis in cities
  • Develop proposals for adopting planning policies

We work to:

  1. Build partnership with State authorities, business and educational institutions, organizations and spatial planning professionals, locally and internationally
  2. Voice public position on trending issues in the sphere of urban planning
  3. Share knowledge with professionals and the wider public on well-established practices
  4. Test applicability of best practices from other spatial planning systems.
  5. Support education and qualification in urbanism and spatial planning via courses, seminars, conferences, etc.
